The Art Deco style flourished through the 20s & 30s, reflecting the elegant and glamerous style and mood of the time as influences poured in from around the world.

In London it is above all the style of the suburbs, whose characteristic building types - cinemas, tube stations and factories - became the classic expressions of the architectural new wave.
